THE PHILOSOPHY:
Working with 5, 6 and 7 years old is a challenge. They are high energy and easily distracted. The APWL provides success with the following.
With our Training, we have broken down each practice time to insure your child's success with the flexibility of allowing skilled coaches to embellish. We provide a 2 hour class reviewing the rules and how to handle any situation along with a 2 hour gym class to understand the game Chumash.
The Methodology- We focus on catching, passing, shooting and picking up grounders with a little cradling. Playing defense with your feet and not the stick.
The Training- We train every coach on the ability to manage a group of 5 or 6 kids, this two day training does not require Lacrosse skills, we focus on consistent repetition and building on each skill set so that a tournament of PEE WEE Chumash can provide confidence for the next level.
The Discipline- We demonstrate to our coaches how best to walk the Tight rope. Understanding how best to discipline a youngster without discouraging him or her. America's Pee Wee Lacrosse is designed for the success of all involved.
The game of PEE WEE Chumash - Flip, the originator of Chumash has graciously added his input with regard to field rules and objectives. Chumash requires every player to be involved and eliminates a dominate athlete running up and down a field. Every child can find "their" way to participate, be it defense or offense with success on every score. Chumash Customized teaches spacing, teamwork, competition and proper winning and losing.
